Canada finished in ninth place 

 

COLIMA, Mexico, June 27, 2007.- Canada defeated Mexico in four sets  (25-12, 25-23, 24-26, 25-22) and qualified in the ninth position of the Sixth Women’s Pan American Cup.

 

Canadians Stacey Gordon and Tasha Holness shared the scoring lead with 16 points apiece and Emely Cordonier and Tiffany Dodds had 12 and 11 respectively.

 

Mexican Martha Revuelta was the best scorer of the match with 18 points, Claudia Rodriguez added 13 and Zaira Orellana contributed 11 tallies.

 

The blocking of the taller Canadians played an important part for the victory outscoring their opponents 13-4.
